SCLVN is honored to attend and contribute to the PADSK & The Society of Construction Law – Indonesia International Conference 2024 on “Synchronizing the application of FIDIC Contracts with specific related project country’s regulation to avoid disputes,” held on July 18-19, 2024, at the Manhattan Hotel in Jakarta.
The SCLVN delegation at the Conference includes:

- Mr. Le The Hung, Vice Chairman of SCLVN; Managing Partner, CNC Counsel.
- Dr. Nguyen Thi Hoa, Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Society of Construction Law (SCLVN), Lecturer at the Faculty of International Law, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law.
- Mr. Tran Pham Hoang Tung, Senior Associate, CNC Counsel.
- Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long, FIDIC Certified Trainer; Managing Director, VinaQS Company Limited.
And two delegates from government agencies:
- Mr. Bui Thai Binh, Senior Specialist, Investment and Construction Contracts Division, State Authority of Construction Economics.
- Mrs. Hoang Thi Binh, Senior Specialist, Bidding Policy Department, Public Procurement Policy Division, Ministry of Planning and Investment.
The two-day conference covered a range of topics, including country regulations in Asia related to dispute resolution, success stories of the Dispute Avoidance and Adjudication Board (DAAB), and the importance of specific conditions to prevent disputes.
On the first day, there were sessions on using DAAB under various FIDIC Sub-Clauses and insights from young professionals on the topic.
The second day focused on alternative dispute resolution methods like mediation, arbitration, and DAAB, along with discussions on additional costs, time extensions, and common claims and disputes in construction. There was also a panel discussion on the amendments to FIDIC 2017.
Three presentations from SCLVN representatives were contributed at the Conference:

- Regulation on dispute resolution in Viet Nam – Dr. Nguyen Thi Hoa, Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Society of Construction Law (SCLVN), Lecturer at the Faculty of International Law, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law.
- The case of Vietnam from state management perspective – Mr. Bui Thai Binh, Senior Specialist, Investment and Construction Contracts Division, Department of Construction Economics, Ministry of Construction.
